About Us:
Kokanee Power of Oregon is a 501(c)3 Non-profit Corporation. We submitted Articles of Incorporation on March 8th 2008 under the laws of Oregon as the "Oregon Fisheries Ehancement Foundation, Inc." dba "Kokanee Power of Oregon". We are incorporated for the specific purpose of conducting educational, research, and enhancement activities regarding Oregon Sport Fisheries. Our efforts focus on the kokanee and trout programs in the inland waters of Oregon. Our primary program is assisting the ODFW in their ongoing efforts to maintain viable populations of these fish in public waters. We also offer cooperation and support to other private and public organizations with similar goals, strive to encourage public awareness and support for Kokanee and Trout Fisheries, and promote fishing as a family activity
In 2009 Kokanee Power of Oregon was key in the passing of the two rod stamp which allows the use of one extra rod per person on assorted inland lakes.
How We Got Started
In March of 2008 our organization was founded with the help of the Central California Inland Fisheries, Kokanee and Salmon Foundation, Inc. to provide support for Oregon inland fisheries. The Oregon organization is completely independent of the California organization although the California organization has provided support to the Oregon organization both monitary and physicaly. All monies raised by the Oregon organization are used to support the Oregon inland fisheries.
